A New Theme, A New Framework

Finding momentum in the forgotten and half-finished, with a little help from an AI agent.

For years, I’ve wanted to get back into blogging. Each time I tried, I convinced myself that what I needed was a fresh start: a new theme, a new framework, a cleaner setup that would somehow make it all easier.

But life rarely left room for those grand plans. Between work, kids, and everything else, my blog attempts always stalled somewhere in the middle. Half-finished redesigns sat untouched, and the energy I’d started with faded away.

Recently, I decided to approach the problem differently. With all the progress in agentic workflows, I thought: why not let an AI agent take a crack at this? I didn’t expect much just maybe a bit of scaffolding I could build on later.

Instead, what I got was momentum.

The AI agent picked up my old astro blog tutorial attempt, upgraded it, fixed what was broken, applied the theme I actually wanted, and delivered something complete. For the first time in years, I opened my blog and felt excited not by the code, but by the possibility of actually writing again.

In the end, it wasn’t a new framework that saved my blog it was that AI agent doing the dirty work so I could finally just focus on writing posts.

And that got me thinking what else have we left half-finished, tucked away, or abandoned? What project, idea, or experiment have you walked away from because life got in the way? Maybe it’s time to hand it over, ask for help, and see what happens. You might be surprised at what comes back.
